Chapter Nine

Returning to my office, I make some phones calls and write some brief notes to the guests who have just departed, thanking them for their patronage.

A note has been placed on my desk. The Princess requests the pleasure of my company at dinner. I send an affirmative response, picturing her ‘Peter Pan’ eunuch standing by her side or more likely kneeling under the table.
